Layer: Stormwater Regulatory Basins (ID: 2)

Name: Stormwater Regulatory Basins

Display Field: BASIN

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon

Description: Stormwater Regulatory Basins are approximate watershed basin boundaries that define the areas within Durham County draining to Falls Lake, Jordan Lake, and the Lower Neuse River. The boundaries depicted with this layer are considered to be ‘planning level’; site-level verification may be required to ensure hydrological conditions are accurate. Boundaries are subject to revision if errors are found or if changes to grading/hydrological conditions result in drainage being discharged from one basin into another. Each watershed basin is subject to specific stormwater regulations as described below: Falls Lake Area of Neuse River watershed basin within Durham County that drains into Falls Lake, defined as the surface water impoundment operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and named Falls of Neuse Reservoir. This area is subject to the Falls Water Supply Nutrient Strategy (see: 15A NCAC 02B .0275 – .028; .0315). Jordan Lake Area of Cape Fear River watershed basin within Durham County that drains into Jordan Lake, defined as the surface water impoundment operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and named B. Everett Jordan Reservoir. This area is subject to the Jordan Water Supply Nutrient Strategy (see: 15A NCAC 02B .0262, 15A NCAC 02B .0267 – .0273; .0311). Lower Neuse River Area of Neuse River watershed basin within Durham County downstream of (below) Falls Lake dam. Falls Lake is defined as the surface water impoundment operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and named Falls of Neuse Reservoir. This area is subject to the Neuse River Basin - Nutrient Sensitive Waters Management Strategy (see: 15A NCAC 02B .0233; .0235; .0315).
