<edom>
<edomv>JUNCTION BOX</edomv>
<edomvd>Structure where two or more pipes meet. Junction boxes are not accessible and new construction will not include any “true” junction boxes. Any junction box that is accessible through a manhole should be coded as a manhole.</edomvd>
</edom>
<edom>
<edomv>MANHOLE</edomv>
<edomvd>Junction boxes that can be accessed through a manhole where two or more pipes connect. If the digital submittal data indicates that they have installed “junction boxes” check the imagery and the construction drawing details if these are actually manholes and, if so, set the Type to Manhole.</edomvd>
</edom>
<edom>
<edomv>MINOR DRAIN</edomv>
<edomvd>Minor drains will typically be connected to “minor pipes.” Attribution of minor drains is minimal and minor drains are only included in the stormwater system if (a) the data is provided by the engineer as part of the digital submittal or (b) there is a special request within the Public Works Department to include this infrastructure based existing drawings or field work.</edomvd>
</edom>
<edom>
<edomv>PIPE JUNCTION</edomv>
<edomvd>This is an implied junction where two pipes are connected without a standard structure. </edomvd>
</edom>
<edom>
<edomv>POSSIBLE JUNCTION</edomv>
<edomvd>This type only used when the nature of the connection between two pipes has not yet been determined. </edomvd>
</edom>
<edom>
<edomv>RISER PIPE</edomv>
<edomvd>An inlet structure that is designed to remove water from a stormwater control measure. Typically, a riser pipe has a small diameter opening near the base so that during lower flows water leaves the SCM slowly, but during higher volumes more water can leave the SCM. Riser Pipes are typically connected to a 15- or 18-inch reinforced concrete pipe that terminates with an end section. Riser pipes can be found in dry ponds, wet ponds, constructed wetlands, and bio-retention ponds.</edomvd>
</edom>
<edom>
<edomv>SLAB INLET</edomv>
<edomvd>This feature consists of a large inlet covered by a slab (typically concrete) elevated above the surface by several inches. Stormwater flows across the ground and enters the inlet through the gap, a.k.a. throat, between the slab and the ground. </edomvd>
</edom>
<edom>
<edomv>WEIR BOX</edomv>
<edomvd>A structure designed to control the rate at which stormwater is released from the upstream portion of a site and is found in conjunction with related SCM infrastructure such as an underground storage device or level spreader. These structures have an interior wall (i.e. the “wier”) which serves If the water level is lower than the wall, then the stormwater exits slowly through a small opening at the bottom of the wall. If the volume of water is in excess of the interior wall, then the excess volume flows over the wall and exits the system more rapidly.</edomvd>

<eaover>COMMENTS
==========
Entries into the comment attributes fields usually following the following format: the comment
begins with a date in YYYYMMDD format, followed by a dash, then followed by the last name
of the user that entered the comment.
ASSET MANAGEMENT ATTRIBUTES
===============================
These include the FACILITYID, LEGACYID, LOCATION, and the ADMINAREA fields. FACILITYID,
LEGACYID, and LOCATION are used by (and required) by the CityWorks system.
The FACILITYID is a unique 5-digit identification number assigned to all structures. This number is sequential and new structures are simply assigned the next number
in series.
LEGACYID values are currently coded as follows: All identification numbers assinged
during the vendor derived field inventory period have been moved into the LEGACYID
field (these numbers are often still visible on some structures).
Currently the county-wide parcel layer is used to assess the location of the structure
and determine the code assigned to the ADMINAREA field. The accuracy of the assigned
code is therefore subject to the accuracy of the parcel layer.
STRUCTURE CLASSIFICATION
========================
Structures are classified using the TASK, TYPE, and STANDARD attributes. The TASK attribute is the most coarse classification and is used to indicate
the primary function of the structure. Structures classified as "END SECTION"
will be classified as either INLET or OUTLET depending upon whether water enters
or leaves the closed system at their location. "RISER PIPE" and "WIER BOX" types
are coded as "BMP".
The TYPE field is used to further identify the structure. The exact descriptions
can be found above. We avoid the term "CATCH BASIN" since that is too generic,
although it's use is very common.
STRUCTURE PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
=============================
CONDITION INFORMATION
=====================
This condition information is a simple visual field evaluation of the current structure
condition. For as-built structures and those submitted via digital submission an assumed
condition is assigned. Condition information is addressed in three areas: access, physical condition of the
structure, and any material within the structure.
Missing grates and lids are not tracked but are resolved immediately since they present
a safety hazard.
EDIT TRACKING
============= The CREATEDATE, MODIFYDATE, and EDITEDBY fields are used for internal tracking of changes
to the database.</eaover>
