Description: The Boundary of the Research Triangle Park (RTP) over which adjoining Municipalities may not annex territory. This boundary is defined in Section 2, Chapter 435 of the 1985 Session Laws of the North Carolina General Assembly, and as amended by:The removal of certain areas from the City of Durham and transfer of those same areas and the addition of other areas to the RTP, as described in Sections 4 and 5, Chapter 841 of the 1989 Session Laws of the N.C. General Assembly, effective as of July 3, 1990, and as further amended by the addition of certain areas to the RTP as described in Section 1, Chapter 93 of the 2000 Session Laws of the N.C. General Assembly, effective as of July 7, 2000, and as further amended by certain areas removed from the RTP as described in the Release of Territory from the RTP as approved by the Boards of County Commissioners of both Wake and Durham Counties, and recorded in the Durham County Register of deeds in DB 6366 – Pages 315-319. effective as of January 1, 2008 and as further amended by area removed from the RTP as described in the Release of Territory from the RTP as approved by the Boards of County Commissioners of both Wake and Durham Counties, and recorded in the Durham County Register of deeds in DB 7961 – Pages 358-362 effective as of July 1, 2016.
